Antique Chinese branch coral carving of a beautiful maiden. She stands holding a vase with peonies. Her hair is pulled up into a high bun on which is perched a bird. Her robes flow around her and she stands on a rocky out cropping. The coral is perfectly balanced on an ornately carved hardwood base.

A Tibetan ewer beautifully worked in silver alloy, probably with later gilding. The compressed body with two cartouches showing the subject of "the four harmonious brothers" and a monk sitting under a tree among animals and treasures. The lid with a vajra-shaped knob and decorated with Buddhist symbols. Silver tested. Condition: few traces of usage, areas with little oxidation. Wonderful Japanese Kutani Celadon statue of Sen no Rikyū (千利休, 1522 – April 21, 1591), the mastermind of chanoyu, the Japanese Way of Tea. An unusual Arita blue & white porcelain plate, circa 1700 - 1750. A smaller dish with similar moulded and gadrooned edge and border of spiky foliage is in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
