Japanese mid 20th century pure silver pair of cranes and bronze tortoise on large bronze base. The base is done as a small rocky hill with bamboo growing. Done in a wonderful design with great detail. Each crane is marked JUNGIN, or pure silver. The base is signed KATSUNORI, in back. The entire piece measures 22" wide, 18" tall and 14" deep.

Sculpture of a bald headed man with a serene face, sitting while holding a small cymbal and drum stick in his hands. The cymbal and stick are connected to each other by a cord. The man dressed in Korean garment, as it is worn by Boddhisatva. Lime stone? Inside hollowed out. Korea, Choseon period, 18th century.
Height inches 14.2 inches (36 cm).
Excellent condition. Some pits in the surface, some traces of former pigmentation.
