$2,750.00 Large pair of Chinese wooden gate doors with hand-forged iron plates and hardware. The pair of doors are opened by iron fu dog heads with large ring pulls in their mouths. The top and bottom iron plates on the front of each door have foliate edges in lingzhi mushroom motifs, with iron studs and horizontal iron bands. The doors have wooden pegs to be inserted into a door frame.

SOLD Antique Tibetan trunk with lid, hand-painted in pigments of red, green, orange, yellow, and gold. The front of the chest with a dragon medallion, surrounded by blooming flowers, smoke, scrolling motifs and auspicious symbols. The lid is secured shut by a front clasp and metal rings attaching it to the body of the trunk.

sold Japanese antique inro with one compartment, carved of wood and lacquered a very dark brown. On one side, a silvery bat flies through the air. On the other side, a fishing net hangs to dry on a fence. The fishing net is done in gold lacquer and the fence is made of shell inlay. $2,750.00 A very rare large gilded Royal Thayo receptacle created in Mandalay for Buddhist votive use. Thayo is made by mixing lacquer with sifted paddy husks to which pulverized bone is added for strength, resulting in a sort of plastic like material easily molded or stamped in a relief design.

SOLD Japanese half section Mizuya (kitchen buffet tansu) with four Keyaki burl front panels opening to a wide, narrow open space along the top of the chest. Below this are two large openwork sliding door panels of geometric design, with a small door to the left opened by a hidden Persimmon wood latch. Six drawers with Keyaki burl faces are lined along the bottom of the chest, with brass warabite pulls.

The well of the dish with incised motif of three swimming fish on wave ground, and low relief geometric scrolls and arrows along the inner edges, the rim left bare from glaze. The outer body slightly lobed and the foot is shallowly recessed and very wide and flat.

SOLD An antique Japanese Choba Tansu also known as a merchant chest made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Hinoki (Cypress) woods,most likely from the Nigata area of Japan. Featuring a Ryo Biraki (hinged double door) design it has a split level shelf where documents and merchant books were stored. Gumpai style handles and hand made iron fittings decorate this chest.
