An antique 2 section Kimono chest (Isho Tansu) made of rare solid Kuwa (Mulberry) and Kiri (Paulwonia) woods. All original bronze and iron hardware. Two sliding doors with beautiful scrolling frame behind which lies a lift-off door, small drawer and a split level shelf with hand carved bamboo-like details. Three side by side drawers and 5 full width drawers below.

This piece have very sophisticated picture of iron glaze by the professional painter, the motif are plum tree and crythansmom. Plum tree is the symbol of early spring and crythansmom is one of autumn, they are loved among the eastern Asia people from ancient. The picture are painted under transparent glaze with iron glaze.
