Very fine, unusually small Tang image of a courtier, excellent condition with complete original pigments. Lovely face with calm and dignified expression. H: 17cm/6.8in

Tang terra cotta image of a Fat Lady. Traces of original pigment with legible facial features (note noted in enlargements). This is the smallest one I have ever seen- miniatures are extremely rare. H: 6.2cm. The bottom is uneven (just appears to have been made that way) there are traces of glue where it was probably once attached to a stand, otherwise, good condition- no damage or repair.

This is a Japanese antique BORO rag indigo dye Blue check pattern cotton fabric . It is an old handspun natural indigo dye cotton that is very comfortable to the touch. There are light stains and small holes and repairs. It sews 2 panels together. The vintage old fabrics used many times have become so beautiful and in themselves a wonderful art. A surprisingly thin-walled deep Sake cup covered in blasted ash by Matsuo Takaaki enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Iga Shizen-yu Youhen Nozoki Hai. An actor in street attire standing in front of a row of shops and tea houses by Osaka artist Sadahiro (active 1830-1851) dating circa 1845. Made from ox horn, and shaped into a perfectly balanced shoehorn, this antique Chinese folk art artifact serves in both form and function. There is a delicately carved design on the back. The handle part of the horn has eyes carved so that the piece takes the shape of an animal and there is a hole carved so that the shoehorn can be hung from a cord. I vaguely remember hearing that the Chinese inventing the shoehorn, but have not been able to verify this as historic fact.

Japanese Satsuma cup and saucer finely decorated in overglaze enamels and heavy gilt highlights with alternating reserves featuring various activities of the noble classes and Buddhist arhats. The inner rim is decorated with a hanging lantern motif and the interior bottom with Buddhist arhats. The base of each piece bears a gold rectangular Satsuma mark and circular Satsuma family crest.
