A very fine gilded bronze Buddha, sitting on Naga. H. 17 cm. Condition: Casting flawa, chips to the foot rim, the Naga head, which used to be behind the Buddha head, is missing. Nevertheless a very attractive piece with a serene expression.

**SOLD** Through our Liverpool shop - December 2018 A very finely painted Chinese blue and white vase painted in late 17th Century 'Transitional' style. The base carries the four character mark of the Kangxi emperor but this item was made later during the 19th Century. Condition - there is a small impact chip to the shoulder and associated old body cracks (please see pictures no.3 and no.9 ) and there is production glaze loss ('fritting') to the base rim (see enlargement no. 8). 26cm (10.3 inches) high.

$275 A Fukagawa nine inch sauce boat and underplate fired on in the kiln. Iris decoration from Chuji Fukagawa's own 19th century design book. Blue underglaze and red, yellow and gold overglaze enamel decoration. Mt. Fuji mark in oxidized cobalt blue on the unglazed, flat foot of the undertray. Late Meiji or early Taisho. Good condition. Chinese late Qing dynasty Guangxu period famille rose porcelain bowl, covered on the exterior in a dense mille fleurs pattern set against a gold background. The base holds an apocryphal six-character iron red “Great Qing Qianlong Year Made” mark. Late 19th century. 4 7/8” diameter x 2 1/4” high. Very good overall condition with no chips or cracks. There is some wear to the overglaze gilt background. This bowl is from a Tucson, Arizona collection.

SOLD Antique Chinese bronze hanging bell with beautiful casting and patina. It hangs by a hook shaped as a two-headed serpent, and its sides are decorated with phoenixes (fenghuang in Chinese, ho-o in Japanese) flying with their head downwards and their long, beautiful tail feathers floating up and over their bodies. The phoenix is a bird of the Sun, so a small Sun adorns two sides of the bell, along with curling motif running along the bottom.
