A Japanese porcelain plate decorated with a dignitary beneath a parasol, attended by his servant, in a garden. The cavetto is unusually decorated with a continuous landscape, a device not often encountered on Arita porcelain. The use of linear shading is reminiscent of Chinese “Master of the Rocks” style. Two sake cups notched and torn from pure white porcelain by Kato Takahiro enclosed respectively in their original signed wooden boxes decorated with overlapping cubes titled Sake Cup. Each is roughly 6.5 cm (2-1/2 inches) tall, 5.5 cm (2-1/4 inches) square and both are in excellent condition, directly from the artist this year.

Fissured white is dribbled with blue and showing flashes of red in the cracks on this large, low Ofukei and Lacquer Guinomi, by Kodai Ujiie enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Tibetan Himalayan Coral Large Bead, Drum shape, 20mm x 21mm(7/8" x 7/8"). Purchased in Tibet prior to 1980.

Small, round covered box for keeping incense, kogo in Japanese, in the shape of a coiled snaked. It’s head is in the center of the cover, protruding. Gray, coarse stoneware with small inclusions, the outside turned brown from the heat in the kiln. Eyes are inlaid rings of clay, giving the snake a slightly goofy expression.

Potter’s mark on the bottom of the lower section. Unidentified.

Antique / Vintage Chinese black silk piano shawl with embroidered red peonies - Large and heavy. Early 20th century. 63" x 63" silk ground, 19" fringe on 4 sides. Large and heavy ! Excellent condition.

The decoration of flowers on this khendi has been reduced to the absolute minimum possibly denoting its destination as South East Asia where early exports from Arita were made.

Perfect Shino Natsu tea bowl (Summer tea bowl) made by one of the most popular Japanese actors and artists, Kazuo Hayashi. He was born in 1945 and is affiliated with Theater Echo. He is also skilled in Buyō and pottery. Ceramics of him are rarely available.
