A very serene and rare 18th Century Thai silver miniature Buddha in Dhyana Mudra pose (the less common deep meditation position)nicely mounted on a small wooden base. Wonderfully aged natural patina. Good condition, Size: H. 1 1/8" (3 cm.) x 3/4" (2 cm.)

This model is a faithful representation of the American privateer ship built in New York at the beginning of the 19th century. The model is of exceptional quality. It may be that it was built from a kit from the 70s but the multitude of excellent details leads me to believe that it is a unique work created from scratch by a virtuoso model maker. Although we know of many models of the "Prince of Neuchatel", none equals this one...

A modern sculpture from one solid piece is Acacia wood entitled "Whimsical Dancing Ballet of Ribbons." It is a free form standing object of art with its foot stem mounted in a custom made iron stand. Originating from Southeast Asia, this beautiful statue was made in Thailand.

Ayutthaya period Bronze Buddha, Siam, mounted, most likely survived the destruction of this ancient Thai capital by the Burmese in 1767, with some parts of the bronze statue partially melted (see photographs). An antique Khmer stone sculpture of Mahā Paramasangata Pada (Jayavarman VII), added to our family collection in 1930 from a private Japanese collection. It was made in mid 19th century.

Lacking any royal or divine attributes, this King Jayavarman VII statue represents Buddha as a simple, spiritual man.

His facial expression is accentuated by semi-closed eyes, a slight smile, large forehead, lips that are neither thin nor thick, and long ear lobes...

Very fine gilt wooden Burmese Nat with elaborate dress, inlaid with many sparkling mirror pieces. The figure is in a protective position with hands guarding off evil spirits. The Nat's name is "Amay Yay Yin", meaning "Mother Yay Yin" and she conquered the river. Thus, people who travel by water, revere her to protect them from danger. This very fine Nat known as "Ahmay (Mother) Shwe Na Bay" is a rare masterpiece of Burmese temple art. She protects fishermen and people working at Sea and on rivers. This solid wooden Nat is gilded in high quality gold leaf and inlaid with gorgeous mirror pieces. Excellent condition, no repairs, size: H. 23" (59 cm.) x W. 7.5" (19 cm.) x D. 6.5" (17 cm.)

Antique Nepalese Bronze Bodhisatva seated on lotus throne. Depicted lovely and delicate detailing with five pointed crown headdress with small head on deer on left shoulder. Hands raised in prayer, hand holding lotus and other had holding rope. Unusual imagery on back of lotus throne of conch shell and running deer. Detachable base from figure.
