Ayutthaya period Bronze Buddha, Siam, mounted, most likely survived the destruction of this ancient Thai capital by the Burmese in 1767, with some parts of the bronze statue partially melted (see photographs). Strong aura/presence. A very rare item, size excluding base: H. 25 cm. x W. 19 cm. x D. 11 cm. (9.75" x 7.5" x 4.25"), heavy.

Well proportioned with a nice facial expression, fine engraving and wonderful patina. H. 48 cm.

Burmese carved and painted marble head of Buddha, beautiful serene expression, exquisitely subtle details for example the carved arching brows and slightly smiling mouth, black hair with traces of gold, 18th century. Comes with black metal stand. Age: 17th-18th century. Total size on stand: 26 1/4" high x 8 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" deep.

From our Southeast Asia Collection, a very good 18th century gilded bronze Thai buddha, seated in bhumisparsa mudra, gilded lacquer over bronze with interesting glass inserts to the base, and all the indicia of legitimate age and genuineness.

Size and Condition: 13 inches tall, 8 1/2 inches wide. There is obvious age-related wear to the gilding and some lacquer has flaked off in a few random places, but in small amounts...
