Rare Vietnamese 13th / 14th Century Lotus Petal Bowl

This attractively-shaped bowl was made during the 13th - 14th Century. Very similar in form and style of Chinese celadons of this period, this example is Vietnamese. The outer wall has a carved or moulded lotus petal pattern with the tips of the petals finished with incised decoration. The bowl is coated in quite a thick crackled olive-green glaze...

White porcelain bowl covered with transparent cracked glaze, decorated with volutes in cobalt blue under glaze. Vietnamese work from the 15-16th century. Good condition, normal wear for a centuries-old ceramic, an insignificant chip in the paste on the edge of the foot visible on photo. Diameter: 15cm. Compare with very same bowl ,housed in Birmingham Museum.

This impressive dish was made during the mid 15th century. It is "heavily-potted" and attractively decorated in underglaze cobalt of deep blue, the upper surface decorated with a central blossom surrounded by floral patterns, whilst the outer wall is decorated with lotus leaf patterns. Chinese porcelain pot, decorated with peonies, rocks and birds. The decor is identical on both sides. Two gilt bronze and copper handles in the shape of stylized lion masks have been added. It is important to specify that these handles are of Chinese manufacture from the 18th century and are of excellent quality. This type of mask is sometimes found on 18th century Chinese incense burners...

This small blue & white jar was made during the 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and decorated in underglaze blue that features a ring of leaves around the shoulder, below which is a scrolling floral pattern. The glaze is quite thick and in places there are blisters to the glaze suggesting this occurred during firing. The flat base remains unglazed. Height 6.75 cm, diameter 7.5 cm...
