Korean kitchen cabinet in traditional style, made of (Keyaki hardwood) elm wood, sliding panels are slatted and backed with rice paper. Small drawers on top and middle (including 2 hidden drawers!). Korean hanging Brown Lacquered Wooden Sword Rack, or Sword Display Shelf, vintage 1960, 26" wide, 22" high, 4 1/2" deep-bottom rack, three(3) Brass inlaid flying geese decoration on the top panel and 3 rows of the curved holders on both sides to hold each sword. Korean Mother of Pearl inlaid Lacquer Jewelry Chest, Ca. Joseon or Chosun Dynasty, 19th Century, 10 1/2" high, 11" wide-maximum measurement...

This small wood box contains a folding top panel on which is mounted a mirror, and a drawer for holding personal items. The box is constructed using pawlonia (kiri) wood on all sides with hardwood and pawlonia panels on the top. The box measures about 10" long x 7 3/4" wide x 5 1/4" high, and dates to the 19th Century. The condition is good. There is a small repair to one corner of the drawer. The nails holding the mirror panel hinges have been replaced with longer nails...

Antique Korean single section cabinet made with elm wood and hardwood burl panels. Hardware is made of brass. Beautiful rich patina. The upper portion has four small drawers in a horizontal row along the very top. The body of the chest is mostly made up of two large compartments opened by hinged doors.

Antique Korean ichung nong wardrobe cabinet in two sections on a low base. Made of black lacquered wood and covered with detailed shell inlay. The front is decorated with scenes of birds, animals, flowers and plants on the top section. The bottom section is decorated with fish, turtles and plants of both land and water. The sides and top are inlaid with scenes of mountains and huts. There are two compartments and the bottom section has two small drawers...

Extraordinary Korean cabinet in three stacking sections. Covered with inlay on a black lacquer ground. The front is very densely covered with scenes of rural Korea: scholars in gardens, farmers at work, maidens in pavilion windows, and lovely vignettes of mountains, and rivers with bridges and boats. Silver toned chased brass hardware includes many butterfly hinges and lock plates...

Korean Wood Oil Lamp and White Porcelain Oil Pot and cover, Joseon Dynasty 19th Century, 19" high, 8" widest point on the bottom, Octagonal shape wooden bottom with column wrapped with ornamental Brass cover with ring in the middle section below the wooden cup, White Porcelain oil pot fitted inside the wooden cup with the cut out area for the porcelain handle. The condition is all original including porcelain oil pot with top.

An unusually large Korean chest made with persimmon wood, with four drawers with brass pulls running along the top, and three sets of doors on brass hinges going down the center. Large Korean three-level kitchen cabinet (samch'ung ch'an-jang) orange-brown color finish, elm wood panels, iron hardware, top section has 2 small drawers with bat shaped hardware, top compartment opens wide with pair of double hinged doors, bottom compartment has 2 sets of doors opening to two separate compartments, beautiful overall scale and proportions, Chosun Period (c. 1900). Size: 68 3/4" high x 43" wide x 21" deep.

Early 20th Century Large Black-Lacquered Mother-of-Pearl Box, in fair condition with much loss of the mother-of-pearl. The brass hardware is old but is not original. 31.5 x 18.5 x 16.5 inches, 80 x 47 x 42 cm.

Joseon Dynasty Ton-kwe (Korean Coin Chest). Coin chests are highly prized by collectors, as their purpose required that they be the largest, heaviest, and most well constructed piece of furniture in the home of an aristocrat. Paper money did not exist in Yi Dynasty Korea, and the coins were of very small denominations. They had to be strung together in large quantities to have any worth, so a strong money box was obviously a necessity...

Korean Joseon Dynasty to a few years later dark stained walnut wood rectangular form coin chest with heavy black iron hardware including metal top hinges, rectangular front plate, iron lock, floral accents along the top at the two narrow sides, and carrying handles on three sides. The top front section lifts to reveal a white papered interior with plenty of storage space. Included is the original authentication certificate from Mr. Lee's Antique Co. in Seoul dated 1989...
