Antique Korean Bandaji known as a blanket storage trunk, made of a heavy Red Pine wood with a deep rich original patina. A single door is hinged horizontally and opens downward to reveal a large compartment for storage. Though these trunks were used for storage of household items, bedding was usually folded and placed on top, thus giving them the name blanket storage trunk.

Rare 19th Century Korean Antique Men's Mirror Box of High Quality Persimmon and Zelkova Wood. 10 x 8 x 6 inches, 25 x 20 x 15 cm.

Korean vanity box made with persimmon wood panels. The box lid opens with brass hinges and brass front plating, incised with floral motifs. The interior of the box holds 4 compartments. Its sides conceal two small hidden drawers, opened by brass pulls, and the base of the piece has an interior low shelf.

Korean 19th Century Joseon Dynasty heavy Elm Wood Coin Chest with Black Iron mounted, Ca. 1860 to 1887, 37" Wide, 19" Deep, 14" high, heavy thick bold grain Elm Wood and Black Iron mounted plus dovetailed each front and back bottom section and also both sides, with hinged Black Iron wooden top, lift up the top to open. One Board thick Elmwood used on each side, front, back and both sides. Half moon shape black iron handles on top of the flower shape backplates on both sides.

This inkstone box is a rare incised example with lovely clouds and cranes who bring blessings, good news, and happiness. It was ranked the most senior bird by Confucian scholars and thought a noble role model. Beautiful Northern Korean bandaji (blanket storage chest) with highly ornate white brass fittings incised with birds and flowers and auspicious symbols. The white brass plated mounts are cladded onto the front of the chest hinged to allow operation of the drop leaf door. The chest has two handles on the side for mobility and two handles on the front to aid in operation of the door.
