This is cloth of indigo dyeing cotton made in Aichi in the Meiji era. It colors the both sides (Ryoumensome) with the same paper pattern. Ryoumensome could use both sides, but the quantity of the work of the dyeing was double. Most Katazome dyes only one side. Antique tasteful Satsuma Chawan made and marked by Gyozan, one of the most famous Japanese Satsuma artists, circa 1905, during the Meiji Period.

This is a small unusual Japanese Porcelain vase. It has is a textured totai like ground with moriage flowers and leaves. The plant appears to be a water lily. The vase stands 3 1/4 inches tall and in 3 inches wide. It is in excellent condition. The vase is signed Bizan Zo.

Lovely vintage cast iron Tetsubin. Majority of pot is hailstone covered, leaving spout, handle, and top of pot smooth. Lid contains a small lion character, giving pot a charming quality. Models a small dainty spout. Dimensions: 8" High X 7.5" Diameter

Rich patina jizaikagi hearth fish from the Taisho Period C.1920. The pot stabalizers had an iron rod through the fish that went up into a long bamboo pole that had an iron hook on the bottom to hold the iron pot over the hearth fire in old japanese farm houses. Japanese Imari Porcelain Bowl, 3 5/8" high, 9 3/4" diameter-top, Ca. 1920, typical Japanese garden scenery over the bamboo fence in large separate panels, flying birds inside smaller cartouches inside the bowl, and sprays of branches in red, green and underglaze blue. Vintage Japanese cylindrical form stoneware lidded mizusashi (water vessel for the tea ceremony) with horizontal ribs covered in a light creamy tan colored glaze with dripped patterning that stops short of the flat foot and recessed base. The interior and underside of the lid are coated in a glossy brown glaze. 20th century. Stands about 6 5/8" high. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This piece is from a Tucson, AZ estate.

Very beautiful Kinsai Iroe Shino ware tea bowl, signed and inclosed in its original wooden box. It was made about 60 years ago and it is decorated with a shiny gold leaf design and images of grass and plum trees.

The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Signature on base.
