First edition Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Rainy Season at Ryoshimachi, Shinagawa" from the series from the series "Selection of Views of the Tokaido" by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) dated in the lower right margin February Showa 6 (1931). The artist's black ink signature and red seal are at the lower right corner with the Watanabe "C" seal (used 1929-1942) in the left margin beside it. This rare woodblock print is one of only eight designs by the artist.

A engaging contemporary Japanese print done by the noted artist, Saito Kiyoshi (1907-1997) The print is potraying a view of Horyuji, the world's oldest wooden structure and a UNESCO site. The view is possibly the walls of the sub-temple complexes that stand in front of the main temple. Age: Late Showa (c. 1950s) Size: height 23.5" width 1.5" length 20.5"

Japanese woodblock print by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997) entitled Jizo-in Kinugasayama and dated 1968. A beautiful scene of the gate to Jizo-in Temple in Kyoto as seen through the stand of tall bamboo that grows on either side. No. 14 of 100. Size in frame: 25 1/4" high x 19 1/4" wide. Size of print: 20 1/2" high x 15" wide.

A breathtaking framed woodblock print by artist Takahiko Hayashi (1961-present) titled "The Wind Filled with Roots, Countless Small Beginnings". Hundreds of small overlapping swirls may represent gusts of wind blowing over bold blades of grass, with a gradating background of golden and deep brown hues. The top of a single, transparent red block sits in the very bottom center of the print. Signed, titled, and numbered 47/50 in pencil...
