Pencil-signed etching by Czech artist Emil Orlik (1870-1932) titled "In the Evening" (Im Abend) dated 1902. This etching was produced shortly after the artist's arrival in Japan in 1900. Plate size: 6 1/2" x 4 5/8" with large margins and deckled edges to the laid paper (paper size: 9 3/4" x nearly 8 1/2"). Very good overall condition. Slight toning is evident...

Lithograph page titled "Entrance To A Temple At Hakotadi" taken from the expedition of Commodore Matthew C. Perry's expeidition of Japan and Ryukyu, published between 1880-1890 by Sarony & Co NY. Japanese Washi Paper Caligraphy Book, Ca. Meiji period 1879, 8 1/4" x 5 3/4" wide, 5/8" thick, approximately 60 pages of Caligraphy in double Washi paper, the condition is good.

Two pieces of urumi-zome cloth which are made of hand-spun cotton and vegetable indigo dye. Urumi-zome is katazome (stencil-resist-dye) imitating shibori-zome (tie-dye) and it requires more process than common katazome to make blurring like shibori. Both have rips but other part of the cloth is not weak. The right one has a patch in the back. The second half of the 19th century. Right one:75cm x 126cm, Left one:65cm x 126cm
