Measures 4-1/2" in height. Affixed to a custom base, which adds another inch or so, for a total height of just under 6". Traces of pigment.

Japanese Edo to Meiji period bronze mirror (kagami) with handle, decorated in relief with palm leaves and flowers. Inscribed with the Fujiwara Shigeyoshi maker’s mark. Measures 8 1/8” long x 5 3/4" diameter. 19th century. Very good overall condition. There is a tiny nick at the bottom of the handle. From the Sahuarita, Arizona collection of former expatriates to Okinawa in the 1970s. Stand not included.

SOLD An antique Japanese bronze okimono statue of a Japanese Ama or pearl diver walking to her boat in the wind. The artist conveyed the wind intensity by the way that her headscarf has unraveled as she keeps it atop her head. Her feet nearly reach the water embankment as she readies herself for the work ahead. The artist, Kyoi Masatsune - 京井政常,signed his name with a hallmark near her feet.

SOLD Japanese Silver box from the Taisho period c1920. The decoration has a inscribed leaf design with a hardwood interior and bottom, good condition.
Provenance Zelig Collection Dates Taisho c1920 H 2.75" x W 5.375" x D 4" Japanese late Meiji period bronze vase with silver inlaid bamboo decoration on the front. At the bottom of the back is the incised signature of the engraver Mitsunobu. The base reads "Kyoto Kuroda made." 6 1/8" high. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition with a nice patina. The silver has not been polished. There is a vertical area on the back that feels slightly flattened, but is barely noticeable.
