Splendid well-matched pair of antique Japanese gilt bronze lanterns with incised floral pattern and tokugawa mon designs. With opening doors lined with paper for illumination. Used in temple passageways. Edo period, circa 1850s. Size: 16" H x 13" Diameter.

A cigarette case made of iron, partially damascened in different golds and silver, inspired by the famous sculpture of the American artist James Earle Fraser (1876-1953) "End of the Trail", which he designed in the late 19th C. The interior with the Otojiro's mark with dragonfly. Condition: traces of usage, two tiny retouches, tiny scratches, elastic band tired, not perfectly closing, interior with left below corner slightly corroded (last photo). Dimension closed: c. 8.6 x 8.1 cm.

A good, large murashido patinated bronze vase. Raised geese and irises decoration including some katakiribori details. The bottom may have been reversed when reattaching it at some later time. From inside the vase can be seen on the bottom a 16 petal chrysanthemum overlaid by Kashiwa (oak leaf) mon and on a bed of same - all in relief...

A highly attractive, hammered silver vase of rounded body rendered in parallel hammered bands and opened neck. Stamped silver mark in the bottom. Showa, c. 1950. H 17 cm, D 12.5 cm. Condition: Perfect. Natural patina.

A letter open done in mixed metal with motif of cranes, chrysanthemums, magnolia-like flowers, and other flowering plants. The letter opener contains a signature that is difficult to read. Age: Meiji Period. Size: Length 13" Width 1.5"

Fine Japanese mixed metal and wood box; the top is inlaid iron with Komai style gold decoration of a simple Japanese dwelling with a figure in the distance; the box itself is very well constructed and in wonderful condition

Rare and elegant decoration in relief, in the center the "Mon" of the Tori-O clan of Yamaguchi in Suwo, surrounded by scrolls of flowers and stylized clouds mixed with Ginkgo Biloba leaves.
