Japanese early Showa Period comb. The comb has the design of traditional Japanese bells with red cord attached. The bells are done in high relief, one in silver lacquer one in gold lacquer and the third in bluish-green shell inlays. The comb is signed by artist. The comb measures 4 1/4" wide, 2 3/16" tall and 7/16" thick.

Rectangular kobako in gold lacquer fundame. The cover represents in hiramaki-e a Japanese castle, surrounded by majestic pines. The decoration extends on the edges of the lid and on the sides of the box. The interior and bottom are in nashi-ji lacquer.

Inrô in gilded lacquer according to the takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and kirigane techniques, with five squares of a mountain lake landscape.

Japanese inro with a large standing bull, frontally positioned with head lowered and looking ahead at the viewer. From the ring in his nose is a rope leading off to the side. The reverse image is a scene, entirely in gold lacquer, of rolling hills and pine saplings in the foreground. The inro opens to reveal a compartment lacquered red on the inside with a small removable inset tray.

On one side, a small stream meanders by a thatched roof building with doors opening to a garden surrounded by a low fence and opened by a tall gate. A large, blossoming plum tree stretches it's branches dramatically over the roof and a mist floats over the top of the scene. On one side of the inro, the stream falls over rocks and continues on the other side of the inro in a striated current. Various trees including blossoming fruit trees and pines spring from the rocks. Rectangular Japanese lidded box with superbly crafted gold nashiji maki-e lacquer having wonderful raised gold birds. The designs on the top continue onto all 4 sides and the attention to details are really amazing. Dates Late Edo to Early Meiji. Condition is excellent as this came from a private collection. Four little red-lacquered Kamakura-bori dishes with a decorative carving of a dove. All with Hanko stamp to the back. Diameter "6 ¼ / 16.3 cm. Condition: a few minimal scratch marks.

Japanese Kiri wood and lacquered floral decorated Hibachi with copper lining, 9 1/4" high, 10 1/4" diameter-outside, and 5" high, 8 1/4" diameter-inside polished copper liner, with 3" wide Lacquer band on the lower area. Low relief lacquer decoration on both sides. The condition is good, one small area about 1" long old separation in the natural Kiri wood.

The size of Kogai with Metal end: 5 7/16" Long, The size of Lacquer Kogai: 5 1/4" L x 5/8" W. Metal ends Kogai, Hair pin made by buffalo bone I think. It is removable as photo showing.
