1909's Japanese Nippon Porcelain Coralene Fully Beaded Bowl with Louts Flowers Marked

It is 4.72 inches (12 cm) tall by 7.28 inches (18.5 cm) wide. It weighs 1.7 lb.

It has a hairline crack at the lip and a small chip close to it. There are several small spots of missing coralene beads. It also has surface wears, rubbing of gold, and yellowing at the bowl's interior (as seen in the photos).

Interesting Arita Imari bowl, late Edo with scalloped rim and panels with reserves of flowers and figural scenes of an elderly teacher (?) surrounded by pupils, the reserves contoured in raised overglaze black. Nabeshima hard porcelain dish. Okawachi kilns. Decoration in underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze enamels. Although the model already exists at the beginning of the 18th century, we do not believe that the dish presented here is authentic. The enamels are perfect, one can distinguish with a magnifying glass discreet wear of use and the enamels show age cracks, but the cobalt blue on the reverse is too pale. It is not a modern copy, as it has been in the Sakura collection for about forty years...

Chawan, or tea bowl, for use in the the tea ceremony. Fine gray stoneware turned out rather thin of almost round shape, with a ‘soul’ in the bottom, standing on a bamboo shaped foot, a swirl inside the foot. Opaque yellow glaze with fine crackle covers the ceramic. Over the yellow a white slip hakeme brush stroke on the outside and on the inside.
