An early snow covers the branches of a ragged pine, the clutches of autumn still evident in the red tinged leaves of ivy clinging tremulously to the limbs. This is a spectacular large Kyo-yaki work signed on the base Seifu and enclosed in a period wooden box. Dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, it is nearly 10 inches (25 cm) diameter, 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) to the top of the lid and in excellent condition. This is the work of Seifu Yohei I.

A dynamic early porcelain work in vivid color by Kiyomizu Rokubei VI enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Futatsuki Kajutu Mon Kashiki (Sweets dish decorated with fruit) bearing his real name, indicating it predates his taking the name Rokubei in 1945. A classic bun-shaped Koro incense burner by Miyagawa Chozo pierced with Incense-clock-patterns enclosed in the rare original signed wooden box. It is 8.8 cm diameter, 7.5cm tall and is in excellent condition. The box contains a hand written note in old Japanese describing the origins of Makuzu-ware.

An exceptional web of gold interspersed with nishiki-cloth patterned designs on gold lacquer fuses this once broken 16th-17th century Koro with ami-me net patterned solid silver lid. This was likely originally made as a tea cup, considering that the entire interior is glazed. Broken and reassembled using the Kintsugi gold technique and placing unusual patterns on the missing portions, this is an exceptional work of art...

A very unusual incense burner in the form of two servants holding up Hotei as he looks joyously toward the night sky. It is performed in crackled white glaze over pale clay with simple iron decoration. It comes enclosed in the original signed wooden box bearing the Teishitsu Gigei-in seal titled Ga-korai Hotei Koro indicating it was based on Korean decoration techniques. An unusual-shaped Kutani vase with panels of birds and landscapes on a background scrolling tendrils surrounded by a thickly applied blue-green glaze. All symbols (phoenixes, birds, chrysanthemums, etc.) are symbols of good luck, strength, and prosperity. The stamp on the bottom is a "Fuku" character which means wealth and good luck. Age: 1900 or earlier. Size: H. 16cm. W. 12cm. Condition: No repairs, chips, or breaks.

Japanese porcelain Kutani ware stand or brush rest, in the classic Yoshidaya enamel colors of green, yellow, purple and dark blue. Of a squared form, with hollowed interior and pierced melon shape sides. The top surface is detailed with image of a monk riding a tiger through the bamboo forest, leaping over a river. The sides are detailed with blue and yellow enamel ground with geometric patterns. The piece stands on four short feet.

A small house shaped incense burner by Mashimizu Zoroku enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kuzuya Koro. Inside the roof is visible cloth patterns where it was formed over wet sack-cloth. The outside has been scraped with a comb to resemble thatch. Inside a window a scholar gazes out, perhaps expecting a guest, or just contemplating the seasonal changes from the warmth of his abode.
