This is a wonderful Meiji Era Satsuma tray from Seikozan. The detail is outstanding but the condition is even better. The condition of this piece is pristine and like new or the day it left the workshop. In fact, this piece is the finest preserved example of Meiji era Satsuma we have ever had. Ironically, we found a small factory repair to one of the corners. We ran tests and it is absolutely a gold covered Seikozan factory repair (See last image).

A large and very attractive vase by Taizan, delicately painted in coloured enamels and gilding with two continuous fields of decoration, the neck with irises above a cloud band of floral trellis pattern, a swathe of scrolling foliage between formal borders. The base signed Dai Nihon Taizan sei and impressed Taizan.

Antique Japanese Satsuma ware bowl in the shape of a money pouch, decorated with motif of procession of children pulling flower cart, ceramic with gold and polychrome overglaze, Meiji Period. Size: 5 1/2" high x 6" wide (diameter).

A watch fob made up of 4 Satsuma decorative ceramic rounds with metal surrounds and chains. The backs of the mountings have the impressed Satsuma mark. The fob measures about 5" long, and the largest round measures about 1". The fob dates to the late 19th/early 20th Centuries. The condition is excellent/perfect. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A healthy round-faced, plump figured, seated boy wearing a typical high hat of boy doll figures of the period. He is also wearing a checker-patterned loincloth. His hands are positioned under his chin, where he is holding his hat ties together. The stoneware was formed with a mold (you can see the faint molding line on both sides and underneath--it is not a crack.) The surface has a natural patina from age. Age: Late 19th Century. Japanese Seto Earthenware Blue and White Tokkuri, small Sake Bottle, 3 1/2" high, 5/8" diameter-top rim, 1 3/4" diameter-bottom rim, transparant Celadon thick glaze over underglaze Blue and White decoration of trees and plants, unglazed bottom with bombed pattern, small flake chip on the bottom.

Charming set of 5 small porcelain Kutani ware plates, two with black and gold rims and scenes of birds and flowers, three with black, gold and orange rims have scenes of noble man and attendant sitting by waterfall, mark of backs, circa 1930's. Size: 5" high x 3 1/4" wide.

Japanese set of 7 blue and white porcelain condiment cups. Each cup is formed with dramatic four lobed foliate rim, eggshell thin body with cobalt blue under enamel scene of Mt. Fuji and flower medallions. The foot of each cup is recessed and incised with lines in a circular order. Dates from the 19th century.
