A Tea Pot by Hattori Tatsuya enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Ginsai Pot alongside a small doodle of the tea pot itself. It is 15 x 11 x 10 cm (6 x 4-1/4 x 4 inches) and in excellent condition, from the artist this past winter. He is a master of silver glazes, and his forms, especially his tea pots, are very popular and generally sell out quickly, we are lucky to be able to offer one...

Square dish with straight rims, with elegant indentation on each corner. In the center two cranes (or similar birds) walking on rocks underneath a pine tree near the sea. On the inside of the rims a continuous border of heart-shaped flowers, on the outside a border with diamond pattern, broken by one cartouche on each side, containing a house. The top of the rim decorated with a karakusa-border.

Japanese Edo period thickly potted Seto stoneware circular form dish with raised edge designed to hold lantern oil. The cream-colored crackle glaze dish is decorated in copper brown in the fukizumi (blown ink) style with a central fish laid over a jar. These dishes were fired in stacks and six spur marks are barely visible in the interior. A Japanese label remains attached to the back. Early to mid-19th century. 8 3/8” diameter x 1 1/8” high...

A collection of 8 different porcelain Imari animals. 3 cats, 3 ducks, 2 frogs. Largest 19 cm tall. All with hand painted inscriptions. Frogs hand painted by YaYou Zhen Cang. All in excellent condition. Estimated to be 20th century or earlier. Sold as a collection. Can be viewed in central London.

Chawan, or tea bowl, for use in the the tea ceremony. Fine gray stoneware turned out rather thin of almost round shape, with a ‘soul’ in the bottom, standing on a bamboo shaped foot, a swirl inside the foot. Opaque yellow glaze with fine crackle covers the ceramic. Over the yellow a white slip hakeme brush stroke on the outside and on the inside.

A beautiful small flat serving dish on raised turned foot by Murakoshi Takuma the pebble studded clay covered in emerald green ash glaze and enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Hai-yu Hira-maru Ita-zara. It is 18 cm (7-1/4 inches) diameter, and stands 4.5 cm (just less than 2 inches) tall. Perfect for cheeses fruits or other shared snacks.

A diminutive image of the three monkeys made to support the Kettle lid in the Japanese Tea Ceremony dating from the later 19th to early 20th centuries by Nagaoka Kuumi enclosed in the original signed wooden box. A warning to all, the little creatures hear nothing, see nothing and speak nothing. What passes in the tea room stays in the tea room. The figure is 4.5 cm (roughly 2 inches) diameter the same height and in excellent condition. Impressed into the base is the artists seal.

A beautiful small wall hanging sculpture by Yamaguchi Mio, titled Umi no Futa (Oceanic Lid) with blue tinged petals enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 13.5 x 17 x 5.5 cm and is in excellent condition, directly from the artist.
Yamaguchi Mio was born in Aichi prefecture in 1992, and graduated advanced studies at the Aichi University of Education in 2017. While still at university, her works were selected for show at the JoryuTogei Ten Female Ceramic Artist Association Exhibit...

A very rare and fine Japanese Satsuma water dropper in the form of a Kyoto style saki pot. Delicately painted with figures and flowers, it is supported on three tiny feet and signed on bottom. In excellent condition, this treasure measures a mere 2 5/8 in diameter and about 1.25" high. Dates Meiji Period, 1868-1912.

A playful troupe of elephants parade around the rim of this early bowl by Shigemori Yoko enclosed in a signed wooden box titled Zobachi. The creatures are in relief, raised from the surface, not engraved into it. This was made by pressing the clay slab onto a surface into which were engraved the family of creatures. It is roughly 13cm 12.7 cm (over 5 inches) diameter, 6 cm (2-1/4 inches) tall and in excellent condition.
