A hand carved antique wooden mask of Tenko or the nine-tailed Kuuko, heavenly White Fox (kitsune) which do good, wrapped in a modern silk bag and enclosed in an antique black lacquered wooden box. The mask is roughly 21-1/2 x 17 x 20 cm (8-1/2 x 7 x 8 inches) and in excellent condition. A cartouche bearing the artists signature can be seen inside the black lacquer within. SEATED BUDDHA FROM KYUSHU

First half of Edo period (1603-1868), Oita, Kyushu region, Japan, approx. H 53 x W 29 x D 20 cm (20.86 x 11.41 x 7.87in)...

A fine small ivory okimono of Jurojin holding a peach with a deer at his side. The figurine measures 2.25" (5.7 cm) high. Signed on bottom, it is in excellent condition. Price $650 USD.
The ivory stand does not go with the okimono, but we like them displayed together. Stand measures 1.75" (4.4 cm) and has some age cracks, but it is solid. Stand price $125 USD.

Small mask of the Kyogen Theater, with a strong expression. Lacquered wood. Eyes made of glass painted inside. Japan, 19th century. Height: 16,5 cm. Several small chips, otherwise very good condition.

Small round zushi consisting of two parts. The outside of both are covered in nashiji lacquer. On the inside of the one part in relief is carved in fine detail the image of Bishamonten holding a trident and a pagoda, subduing two demons. Inside the cover sits Benzaiten playing the biwa.
Bishamon and Benten are two of the seven gods of good fortune (shichifukujin), but they each hold a position in the Buddhist pantheon, as well.
Both images in plain, unpainted camphor wood.
