Depicting one of the 24 Tirthankaras, the saints of Jainism, surrounded by 13 figures seated in meditation. Finely cast and engraved. Nice wear due to puna worship. South India, 17th/18th century. H. 36 cm (15 inches) Provenance: private collection Belgium.

Virabhadra, incarnation of Shiva, is often depicted in solid bronze plaques. This one however is remarkably fine, with its delicate openwork. It dates from the 16th century, possibly earlier and was made in West India. It has a warm brown patina and appropriate age wear. There is a very old repair just above the small figure on the left. Height 26 cm (the sculpture), 32 cm including the stand.

Statue of a Yakshi, or Yakshini, wearing a necklace and a dhoti, standing under a flowering ashoka tree and holding a branch with her left hand. Bronze, with dark green and red partly encrusted patina and with some soil encrustation. India, ca. 2nd-1st century BC. Height: 15.2 cm. The statue is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition.

A small size antique bronze Hindu deity possibly depicting the deity, Bhodevi or Sridevi. The deity is holding a lotus bud like flower and is dressed in the traditional manner as many of the Hindu deities are seen. 19th-20th century. Size: length 1.75" width 1.5" height 5.5"

A rarely seen image of Vaishnavi, the consort of Lord Vishnu and also one of the eight Matrikas. Excellent casting, nice wear and patina due to Puja worship. H. 14 cm (5,5 inch), W. 10 cm (4 inch). Provenance: private collection Belgium.

Finely carved with serene expression. With downcast eyes, elongated earlobes and wearing a fine moustache. His jewelled hair dress with flowing curls forming a topknot. Statue of Krishna dancing on the head of the Kaliya Snake, on an elevated square base, holding a butter ball in his right hand. Bronze, with fine dark green patina. India, early 19th century. Height: 6,4 cm. Abrasion due to age, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: this statue refers to Krishna's adolescence. The Kaliya snake had poisoned the pool in which cow herds were drinking. Krishna revived the cows and had a fight with Kaliya, kicked it almost to death, and then danced on him...

Statue of a standing woman in formal dress, with an unusual necklace supporting a Christian cross. Wood, with fine glossy patina. India, 19th century. Height: 18.5 cm. The statue is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Abrasion due to age, otherwise good condition.

Vintage East Indian altar shrine, made from brass with copper nails. The step base leads into the shrine with embossed tree panels behind four pillars. The top of the structure has two peacock shaped finials. Openwork repeating patterns and floral motifs are shown throughout.

Indian carved marble figure of the Hindu warrior goddess Durga sitting on lion, she holds a curved sword over her head and wears a crown, the eyes and mouth are painted on both the goddess and the lion, 12th century. Size: 42" high x 21" wide x 7 1/2" deep.
