A superb Collector's MING DYNASTY, CHUNG-CHENG (1628-1643), BLUE AND WHITE SNUFF BOTTLE depicting several figures in action as well as seldom encountered relief/carved/raised masks on each side. The base is marked with a double circle and 4 Chinese Characters of the Period. The neck of the snuff bottle has special pattern décor markings. This is an Amygdaloidal Basalt, heavy, but well hollowed, of flattened globular shape with a short broad cylindrical neck, and an oval recessed foot. Engraved with lion masks to both shoulders. The background is dark gray, almost black, and the attractive mineral inclusions of various shapes are light brown, light blue, gray, green, light green and some shades of rosette.
