$700.00 This plaque must have been part of a scholar's screen. It is carved in a Duan stone of 2 layers of different colors. An ochre layer and a brown layer. The brown layer is carved in depth until the ochre layer appears. The decoration is thus cut in brown on an ochre background.Qing period 19° century or earlier. On the reverse side we can see the traces of the tool which should give indications for a more precise dating.

SOLD Antique Chinese brush rest made of black glazed porcelain in the form of a lingbi scholar rock. Sculpted and drilled with holes and windows like a miniature version of the prized lingbi stone. This brush rest has five peaks, creating four areas in which to lay one's brush when it's not in use. Fitted with a carved hardwood base. The flat underside is carved with a six character Qianlong mark.

$1,250.00 Chinese fan painting of a stand of bamboo growing near a group of moss-covered rocks. A poem written in the upper right hand corner says: 细竹千竿満地 which translates as "A thousand stalks of slender bamboo cover the ground". The seal is a bit hard to make out but appears to read: 鄭 Zhèng.
That character seems to also appear towards the end of the text.
The next character after it and in the seal is 名 (míng, 'name')...
