The vase is cast in one piece. Inspired by archaic Chinese bronze ritual vessels, it bears a Taotie mask decoration. This decoration is reduced to two narrow bands instead of occupying more space as usually on the bronzes of the Ming period, this more austere character, the slender shape and the patina with a much more antique aspect allows us to think so. older, probably from the Song period or earlier. A Chinese bronze two-handled censer in the manner of Hu Wenming, Ming dynasty, 16th/17th century. 15 cms wide. Provenance: Hugh Gordon Lowder (1888-1978) who worked at Chinese Maritime Customs, Shanghai, 1908-1914 and 1918-1940.

A hexagonal open-work cast bronze incense stick or utensils holder with two dragon handles, standing on three feet. The sides showing four high-relief immortals and two lotus flowers, the base with lattice pattern. Condition: traces of age. Dimension: height: c. 16.3 cm, c. 14.8 cm wide.

A fine and heavily cast Chinese bronze censer and stand cast as a finger citrus, the stand with trailing leaves. The burner with a beautiful honey brown patina suffused with gilt flecks. Late Ming/early Qing dynasty, 17th century. Length 20 cms. Weight 1580g.

A bronze sitting Buddha was well cast by well rendered carving craftsmanship.
In very good metal material, the ancient bronze figure was coated with darken patina and reflected with retrospective sheen.
He was preserved in perfect condition only with some casting holes on the back.
He was well depicted in details and showed a grandeur look despite the small size.
An old collection wood box is accompanied.

Description:

An archaic bronze seal was from Buddhist ritual.
It was cast on the printing side with four ancient Zhuan characters: Fo Fa Seng Bao (Buddha, Buddha dharma, Buddha Followers, Buddha's Holy Treasures).
There's a long slender knob on top of the seal. Three characters Wu Qiong Gang (Endless Strength) were inscribed on the upper side beside the knob.
The seal was kept in perfect condition and was in darken patina due to long time of age...

Chinese bronze tripod ding censor with two upright arched loop handles at the rim. A geometric band encircles the rounded body. A comparison with porcelain forms suggests a dating of S. Song to Yuan dynasty for this vessel. 5 1/8"H x 3 3/4" diameter. There are original casting flaws on the legs and a slight dent in the body (see enlargement 6). This piece is from a Tucson, Arizona estate.
