17th Century Chinese Bronze Donkey Shaped Incense Burner with Dragon Saddle

It is 8.2 inches (20.8 cm) tall by 8.6 inches (21.8 cm) in length and 4 inches (10.1 cm) wide. It is 2455 gram (5.4 Lb).

It has pitting, firing holes, small chips and missing 2 sticks at the saddle, loss of patina, oxidation, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A very decorative, marked tripod form bronze censer with irregular gilt splashed throughout the body and along the handles, and a Mark in relief. Nineteenth century or earlier. Diameter : 11,3 cm. H : 5,4 cm.

Archaic bronze lidded ritual food vessel on three legs (Ding). The body is round in form and divided into banded areas of detailed interlocking cloud and thunder motif. The band closest to the rim curves inward before flanging out again. There are two animal headed looped handles cast on either side. The three feet are squat and curved with cast details like those on the handles. The lid is similarly divided into banded areas to match the body...

A large 19th century Chinese Tibetan bronze vessel featuring a frog design and a beautiful warm patina. In excellent condition, it is has been in the same family since purchased and has been well cared for. Measures 11.5 inches high x 7.5" across.

Antique Chinese bronze mirror. The front is decorated with motifs of birds, squirrels, and grapes in high relief. The largest center squirrel is pierced through for attaching to a silk cord. The opposite side is a flat and smooth mirror surface in deep shades of green and black. Original patina. Possible Han Period.

Rare and endearing figure of a young boy disciple of Quanyin (the Goddess of Compassion) wearing a garment etched with a lotus flower - the symbol of Buddhism. He is often depicted near Quanyin with his hands in reverential prayer. The bronze is heavily cast and has wires imbedded underneath the pedestal, perhaps for attaching to a group of figures. An unusual round paitong brass ink container with a floral design from the Ming period. Inside there are still remains of old dried out black ink. Signed on the underside, probably the maker. Size: Diameter. 7.8cm. H. 2.8cm. Condition: No repairs some wear from centuries of use.

Antique Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) Chinese gilt bronze scholar scroll weight in the form of a chimera. The mythical water dragon-like creature semi-coils it's body. Made of cast bronze with original gilt finish. Original finish consistent with age.
Scholar-officials were the elite class of imperial China. They were highly educated, especially in literature and the arts.

Ming Dynasty C...

A nice and rare statue of a Song guard with remnants of heavy gilding. He is probably part of a large configuration and had a spear in his hands. Size: H. 11.5cm. W. 4cm. Condition: No repairs. Needs a stand to stay upright
