Chinese small bronze tripod incenser in the form of a peach. With tall cylindrical tripod feet, the base of the peach is inscribed with cartouche in relief. Provenance from Zeilig Gallery Collection, previously purchased from Spinks 1979.

Fine Chinese gilt splashed bronze censer; lobed in form with an excellent patina; some pitting and encrustations below rim; no damage; the uncommon mark (méi-zhu shan-fáng, or gao zhu shan fang) is gilt and crisply cast; this censer is very well modelled and cast; feels wonderful in the hand; 18th century

Antique Chinese small bronze censer in the form of a recumbent qilin. Possible used as a brush rest or for burning incense. Open on the bottom, the incense smoke would have come up through the qilin's open mouth. Subtle details include incised scales and a single horn.

The vase is cast in one piece. Inspired by archaic Chinese bronze ritual vessels, it bears a Taotie mask decoration. This decoration is reduced to two narrow bands instead of occupying more space as usually on the bronzes of the Ming period, this more austere character, the slender shape and the patina with a much more antique aspect allows us to think so. older, probably from the Song period or earlier. A fine pair of gilt bronze appliques, possibly belt or harness fittings, of square shape, with well cast relief decorations of musicians sitting cross-legged and playing the flute and what seems to be a lute. China, Liao Dynasty (916-1125). Height:3.1 cm. Very good condition.

Massive Qing dynasty Chinese polished bronze tripod ding censer with compressed body, two arched loop handles at the rim, and tapered legs fitted on a custom hardwood stand. Cast in a Ming dynasty style and bearing a six-character apocryphal Xuande reign period mark within a rectangle on the base. Believed to date as early as the 18th century. Pair of cast bronze incense holders. The lower part is a tripod composed of 3 dragon heads. The upper part is a lotus leaf and 3 buds. In the center of the sheet is welded a hollow rod that can contain an incense stick. The cast bronze has defects. A beautiful old patina attests to a great age of several centuries. A broken foot is reattached. A label bears the number 37 without any other reference, but we do not know which collection it is. Height:29cm. 17th century or earlier...

Chinese bronze 3 piece figure of a donkey and rider. The old man rider holds a scepter in his hands. His hat may be removed and incense placed inside his head, so the smoke would billow out from the front. On hardwood display stand with scroll legs.
