Chinese colossal armchair in carved wood. Dimensions of an Imperial throne. Excellent quality wood, very hard with very fine grain, excessively heavy (an armchair weighs 80kg) nice grain. Intricate but elegant perfect cabinetmaker work. Sculptures in relief and cut with a total mastery of the tool. The drawings are precise, elegant and show no fault of chisel or taste. In addition, all the subjects treated have traditional Chinese meanings, longevity, fortune, luck, marital happiness, etc...

Chinese teakwood tabletop display stand. Each of the four tiers for holding objects has carved frieze decoration. 18” wide x 15” high x 5 1/4" deep. 20th century. Very good overall condition. A vintage Chinese coffer altar cabinet in the Ming style made entirely of Huanghuali wood including the back and the interior shelves. All original brass square plate and loop handles with a pair of double hinged doors and 3 side by side drawers above. With classic spandrels and apron for the feet. The maker spared no expense using the finest quality materials and joinery craftsmanship in producing this piece.
