DESCRIPTION: A Chinese peach toggle (guajian) crafted from a flat piece of burl wood with large spreading leaves, representing longevity in Chinese iconography. Two holes on either side of the stem were used for threading a cord from which this toggle would have been suspended as a counterweight to some other object, such as a tobacco pouch. A nice example of Chinese folk art dating from the mid 1800’s or earlier, this toggle is in overall fine condition with aged patina...

Chinese Bridal large Red Lacquer on wood Food Container or storage bowl with removable tops, 7" high, 20 5/8" diameter on top, made in 19th century. The low relief carving in brown lacquer work scrolling vines on red lacquer base is in good condition with some gold highlighted between the decoration. The top is in two(2) pieces, lift to open, the holes are for air circulation. Shows some joining separations, and wrapped around with original metal wire...

Chinese Bridal Bamboo Basket, with Red Lacquer trim and handle, made during later part of 1800's to early 1900's, 19" high with handle and 7" high without handle, 12 1/2" x 9 1/2" wide, oval shape. Beautifully handcrafted basket. No damage.

Intricately carved with a three legged toad (wealth) resting on a leaf, next to a lotus pod with movable hardwood seeds, under the leaf a spider and another insect and two frogs on the stem of the lotus pod. DESCRIPTION: A fine, large Chinese boxwood toggle in the shape of a Chinese coin with four script characters on each side surrounding the square hole. Around the edge, various plant and animal forms are carved in high relief, including a flower, bird, squirrel and bat. The suspension cord, connecting it to an object such as a tobacco pouch, would have been strung through the openings under the bat's wings. Wonderful patina, excellent condition, and dating from the 1800's or earlier...

Chinese Wire Black lacquered Lantern, hanging on the Tree in the Garden setting, Ca. 1930's, 15" high, 5 1/2" diameter-wooden base, hanging Lantern on the tree, outside frame comes out, and put the candle inside on top of the wooden base. The condition is nicely aged.
