SOLD Chinese Neolithic tripod earthenware ewer (gui) of the Dawenkou culture (4th-3rd millennium BCE) meant for use in religious ceremonies. The vessel has a flared, upwards pointing mouth with a single ribbed handle on its back, ribbing along the body's edges, and its tripod legs are dramatically tapered to the feet.

This type & size is very rare and were made as tomb figures for wealthy and prominent people during the Ming Dynaasty. The male attendant with greyish-black robe over a cobolt blue and torquoise glazed dress and a round red hat and with black rim. Many nice details. He is standing a tray and a mug or cup in his hands... A fine example of a Song Dynasty bowl with a greenish grey glaze. Item is in good condition without chips or cracks. Diameter: 6 inches.

Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Pottery Buddhist Zodiac Jar
This very rare and attractively-shaped pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province. The jar has been decorated with four large lotus leaf panels within which are moulded and applied human figures and zodiac animals. The pottery is quite “brittle” and there are minor losses to the vulnerable edges...
