A Chinese porcelain brush washer with a flambe ox blood glaze and the splashed colors of red, white and blue. The pot was for the use of a scholar to clean his brush when doing calligraphy. The washer is six sided and measures about 2" tall x 2 1/2" in diameter. Such items are relatively unknown and very little has been published about them. They are found in the northern provinces, particularly Gansu province in the north-west.

A Chinese porcelain oil lamp decorated with blue scrolling clouds and leafs. This is a fine example of antique Chinese straits folk art from the turn of the Century. The lamp measures about 5 1/2" high x 3 3/4" in diameter, and it is in perfect condition. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.
