$375.00 A large 10 inch Chinese celadon porcelain plate beautifully painted in polychrome enamels featuring a bird, insects, butterflies, and flowers. The painting was well executed by an artist who had a good eye for design. In very good antique condition, there is one fine hairline measuring .75" or 1.9 cm. and 1 fleabite. Marked on the back, it dates Tongzhi Period (1862-74).

In very good condition save for a tiny flea bite on the spout, it measures about 10.5” high (to top of handle) x 9" diameter (10” across including spout). Dates circa 1885.
Large Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Tray, Ladle & Cups Set
This rare large and impressive rectangular pottery serving tray, complete with a ladle and six "ear" cups was made some 2,000 years ago during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). They are all made from a fairly high-fired grey pottery and "cold painted" in red pigment. Tray dimensions: length 56.5 cm (22.25 inches), width 35.5 cm (14 inches)... Large Chinese Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) high-fired gray-black pottery bottle-form vase with geometric incised designs of unusually fine form. 11 1/2"H. Very good overall condition with minor wear. One thin old chip to the foot.

$800.00 Large Chinese Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) iridescent green glazed tapering ovoid form burial jar decorated with a band of well moulded animal forms extending around the upper circumference of the jar. Measures 7" high x 8" diameter. The mouth and base have the typical indications of the Han firing process. Small remnants of the clay support from the kiln are visible at the lower base and at the mouth where the jar was detached from supports. Very good overall condition...
Large Chinese Jin Dynasty Carved Pottery Tile (AD 1115 - 1234)
This fine and rare pottery tile dates to the Jin Dynasty (AD 1115 - 1234). It is made from a dense fine-grained grey pottery. It features a carved figure in relief, the figure holding a staff in its right hand and, possibly, wiping away tears with the left hand... Chinese Jin to Yuan dynasty Cizhou oval form stoneware wine bottle with four lug handles below the short, everted rim. The upper body is covered in a creamy white crackled slip and is separated from the lower iron-brown section by a narrow horizontal band. The unglazed base is covered in grit from the kiln. 11 3/4” high. Circa 12th to 13th century. Very good overall condition with typical wear and production flaws...

$600.00 Large Chinese Ming dynasty wide-mouthed globular form guan jar with short, vertical collar-like neck and wide angled mouth covered overall in a dark brown/black crackled glaze that coats the interior and ends at the base. A thread relief moulded band of scrolling foliage decorates the upper section of the jar. A narrow floral band is above it. A circular trademark with four small flowers surrounding it is in relief on the flat, unglazed base. 11” high by about 11” diameter...
Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Crackle-Glazed Dish (32.5 cm)
This large blue & white "Swatow" (or "Zhangzhou") porcelain dish was made in the 16th / 17th century, most likely during the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. It is "heavily-potted" and coated in a heavily-crackled glaze. The upper surface is decorated in underglaze blue with peonies within thin blue bands. The underside is simply decorated with circular blue bands... Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish (with Mark)
This impressive porcelain dish dates to c.1540 - 1620, from the late Jiajing reign to the Wanli reign. It has a foliated rim and is decorated in underglaze blue of good colour. The central decoration features a flower blossom surrounded by four be-ribboned Buddhistic lion-dogs. Surrounding the central roundel, around the cavetto, is a scrolling leaf scroll, with the flat upturned rim decorated with a wavy floral scroll... This unusual blue & white porcelain bowl was made during the mid to late 16th century c.1560-1580. The outer surface remains undecorated whereas the inner surface is particularly elaborately decorated. In the centre is a standing bird, most likely a crane (a symbol of longevity), together with various plants and blossoms... |
