This rare and attractive porcelain bowl was made during the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. This type of porcelain is referred to as "Swatow" or "Zhangzhou" ware and was often exported to the South East Asian market. The decoration is quite elaborate and has been executed with green and red enamels... Chinese Qing dynasty bombe form censer (incense burner) with flared brown dressed rim decorated around the circumference in underglaze blue on a white porcelain ground with two four-clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl of wisdom. Chinese Qing dynasty Nanking ware bowl decorated around the center in underglaze blue with figures in a landscape setting of mountains, trees, traditional huts, and boats on a lake. The flaring top rim and base have brown incised bands that are characteristic of brown etched wares produced between 1880 and 1920. $350.00 Libatory cup in Chinese soft porcelain. The cup is made with a mold in 2 parts, on the side you can see the junction mark. It is decorated in relief with 2 dragons, a crane in flight and a deer. The clay is white covered by a transparent glaze.Usually, these white Chinese cups are made of hard porcelain, those made of soft paste like this are rarer. The cup is in good condition there is only a small chip on the upper edge which is clearly visible in photos.

This tall and impressive porcelain jar was made in the 13th - 14th century, toward the end of the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Interestingly it has been made in several sections that have been luted together. It is coated in a finely-crackled greenish qingbai glaze (the colour on the cover is a little more blue than the jar). Various decorations have been moulded and applied to the surface... £345.00 The design of butterflies and melons is seldom encountered on Chinese porcelain, found only on a few Qianlong pieces. This shaped dish I feel is from the early 19th century but the ‘orange peel’ surface of the porcelain is often found on Qianlong export pieces. Like the Qianlong painted melons these have a pronounced ‘spotting’ in either famille rose or gold enamel on the fruits.

Sold in our Liverpool shop - August 2018 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2018年8月 A heavy 19th Century lotus shaped porcelain deep bowl decorated on the outside with famille rose enamels depicting a dignatory and boys in a garden landscape. The base bears the six character seal mark ( painted in iron red) of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874).
Condition: very good - there is wear to the turquoise glazed interior but no damages and no restoration.

Sold A Blanc de Chine Libation Cup. Of rhinoceros horn form on one side with a tiger seated below flowering prunus whilst looking up at a Dragon. The other with a deer below pine and a stork. Chinese 18thC. Height 7.2 cm. Length 13.7 cm. Condition: there is a shallow glaze flake 0.4 cm and 0.3 cm to the rim (See last image) and a small flake in the foot.
