A very finely carved hardwood ox or buffalo, surmounted by a young boy, on original stand, probably made for export during the second half of the 19th Century circa 1850-1900 . Condition - excellent - one glass eye of the boy is missing but, unusually, there is no damage at all to the sculpture and there has been no restoration. A small finely carved hardwood panel, with gold lacquered border, depicting a Scholar on a bridge in a mountain landscape and encased in a silver wire inlaid frame. The panel and frame were made during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - the frame has been crudely re-glued and would benefit from restoration； the panel itself is in excellent condition with no damages or losses. A wonderful Chinese wood elephant head architectural element. All sides are lacquered except for the back and top which are unfinished. This could be hung on the wall and used as a wall shelf to hold a small treasure. It is made of a heavy wood weighing 2 lbs and measuring 6" high, 4" widest, and 6" front to back. Date: mid 1800s.
