Antique Chinese ruyi scepter carved of boxwood in a naturalistic representation of a lingzhi mushroom. Long and elegantly curved with smaller lingzhi sprouting from it's stem. Beautifully carved with great attention to detail and form. Ruyi scepters were used in Chinese Buddhist ceremonies and as symbols of good fortune, luxury and power.

Chinese bamboo caving of Shoulao, the deity of longevity. He is sometimes referred to as the Old Man of the South Pole. His attributes include his large forehead, representing wisdom, and his long beard to show longevity. Shou Lao also holds a long staff and a peach branch to also symbolize a long and prosperous life. Shoulao is carved with a small boy riding a deer, who holds a magic box from which a bat flies out (an auspicious motif) and a crane.

An opium scale made of two carved bamboo parts that pivot open at the rounded end and close together with a leather strap. Inside this violin-shaped instrument are the original items - metal scale tray, counterweight and a measuring rod made of a long single piece of wood. Chinese carved Foo Lion on each corner and red and brown lacquer on Wood Display Stand, "X" cross shape folding, made early 1900's, 10" high, 16" wide-maximum measurement, 11" wide-for display area inside the high rim. One piece of wooden stick is holding the two(2) pieces of wood together loosely in the center to able to fold or open any angle needed for the items to display. There are some lacquer loses on wood, showing wear and tear, no major damage.
