Vietnamese 13th-14th Century Small Underglazed Bowl

This bowl was made during the 13th-14th century. It has a slightly flared rim and has been decorated in underglaze iron-brown, quite thinly in places, with floral and scrolling patterns. To the glaze in the centre are spur marks from firing. It is coated in a finely- crackled clear glaze that has hint of green; the base remains unglazed. To the underside of the rim are two firing scars, and a small filled-in chip...

The figure dates to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.

Large Khmer pedestal jar circa 12th century with dark brown glaze. This piece has a large restoration to the top - normally the neck would be much longer but this has taken the piece from another, of the period jar, and attached it to this. Overall the glaze is excellent on this piece and has retained its elegance. H: 30cm/12in and D: 23cm/9in. This piece is quite heavy and weighs 3.5kg.

This small jar, or jarlet, was made during the 15th century and was recovered from a shipwreck known as the Hoi An Hoard. It is of a particularly attractive form and is coated in a very finely-crackled glaze with traces of its original green and red enamel floral pattern.

Rare Vietnamese 15th Century Blue & White Jar

This rare jar was made during the 15th century. It is "heavily-potted" and has quite a wide body for its height. It has three unusual "twisted" loop handles placed equidistant around the shoulder. The underglaze blue decoration covers the whole of the body and comprises lotus flowers and leaf designs.

Height 10 cm. Although not at all obvious, close examination does show the mouth to have been restored.
