Price on Request This is an old Japanese silk obi. The style of the obi is called Chu-ya (day and night) obi – it’s made with two different fabrics sewn together. As the name suggests, two sides of the obi can be worn for totally different social functions. Both sides are absolutely beautiful on this obi.
The front side of this obi is subtle but quite tasteful. As for the black side, it is ‘Nyogen’ silk fabric from China; there are two characters, ‘nyo gen’ and their distinctive red logo (p... Very nice lobed porcelain Qingbai plate with carved peony decoration. China, Song Dynasty (960-1279). Diameter 16 cm. Condition: glaze is locally crackled due to age, there is age wear to the glaze. No damage or repairs.

Condition: trimmed (die stamp of l'Oeuvre gravée only last 3 letters), slightly soiled and creased, reverse with annotations in pencil and traces of former mounting, one pinhole in image. A Lusan stem cup was in lovely size. It was well preserved by reflecting the retrospective sheen of old condition. Blue and white splashes were suffused against the dark brownish glaze background on the surface. Loosening-feel body clay was revealed at the lower portion in beige tint. Date: Tang Dynasty, 9th/10th century. Body width: 6cm, Height: 5.5cm.
