This is a very nice Edo period cotton indigo dyed cotton kimono for children. This is yokote Kasuri.Patterns such as bangasa (umbrella), turtles,willow. There are some stains and some repair marks on the shoulder ridge. However, it is an unused / stored item. The color and scent of indigo dye remains firmly. Size::length:84cm (33.07inch) / Sleeve-to-sleeve width::81cm (31.8inch)

Antique Japanese pair of shokudai (candle sticks) for butsudan. Made of bronze and decorated with unusual silver crest. Each with small animal head handles on either side. Nice weight and patination.

A rare example Japanese zunari kabuto (samurai helmet) made all of iron with a mixed metal (gold & silver) design of a dragon amongst swirling clouds. The eyes and whiskers of the dragon are inlaid gold and it's body coils all the way around the hachi (dome). The mabizashi (visor) is edged in bronze and decorated with more wisps of clouds. The underside of the visor shows traces of original red lacquer. The shikoro (neck guard) has five layers and shows traces of black lacquer.

Antique Chinese celadon bowl. The rim is flared and accented with incised concentric rings which repeat several times closer to the center of the bowl. The widest band and the reserve at the bottom of the bowl are incised with subtle designs possibly floral. The outside of the bowl is thickly glazed with lovely drips and overall crackle. The foot has been left unglazed.

Horse riding on in Tibet is especially popular on the plateau of Western Tibet where the Kampa horsemen have held traditional horse races and festivals for generations. Antique Japanese gunbai, war fan belonging to a high ranking samurai officer. Made of lacquered wood with shell inlay and with 2 large cut outs. This fan would have been used to shade from the sun and to signal troops. Though this shape of fan was not used as a weapon, it could have come in very handy in battle and there are legends of samurai heroes fighting with nothing but their war fans. The art of fighting with a war fan is called tessenjutsu. This fan comes with a custom metal stand. ...

Small hard stone vase, probably jadeite. Pale green color spotted with white and bright green with brown veins. The polish of the stone is rather matte than shiny. Finely carved hardwood base. Chinese work 19° or early 20° century. The dull polish of the stone would lead us to date it to the end of the Qing or earlier. Good condition, no restoration, the veins of the stone are not glued and are solid. Total height: 14cm. Vase without the base 11cm.

An example of some of the finest porcelain modern Japan has to offer. According to Wakao Kei, the artist who crafted this piece, it took him years of trial and error to perfect these stunning translucent glazes and associated techniques such as getting the right flowing consistency and pooling effect around the base. The unglazed portions at the foot of the bowl seen here in pictures was created by the artist's fingers as he plunged the vessel into the glaze while holding firmly to the porcelain...

This piece is styled "uzukumaru" pot, it means "squat", Uzukumaru pot is originally made for storing seeds. Since tea masters like as Rikyu used them for vase in the tea room, it has been called "uzukumaru" and loved by them for tea　goods. Sugimoto's Iga pieces are usually 3 times fired in "Anagama" kiln, one term for firing is 10days, so it follows that they are fired for 30days.And then they has been making dynamic scene on the surface.
