This attractive small covered jar was made during the 13th / 14th Century (Song / Yuan Dynasty). This jar has quite a wide body and is unusually "heavily-potted" for its type. It is coated inside and out in a pale green Qingbai glaze that is very finely-crackled. The colour of the glaze varies a little, especially to the cover where it is a little paler. The chawan is adorned with a delicately applied ash glaze, exhibiting a graceful transition from a deeper hue to a lighter shade on the bowl's sides. The rounded, harmonious form is undeniably captivating, a testament to a contemporary aesthetic sensibility.

A spending antique Chinese Kwan Yin sculpture made in the late Ming Dynasty. Kwan Yin or Guanyin and Avalokiteshvara is the Bodhisattva of compassion. Here she stands samabhanga on a simple base with robes flowing and clinging naturally over and to her long, slender body. Her feet peek from beneath her robes.

Her hands are held with her thumb and middle finger touching in the vitarka mudra of teaching. Her hair is piled high on her head. Her gaze serene and slightly downcast.
