Delightful Qing Dynasty café au lait glazed water dropper in the shape of a fish in a basket, it is quite heavy for its size and the brown glaze has a strong metallic patina possibly emulating bronze. Most likely from a Southern Kiln, in perfect condition! D: 5.7cm/2.2in and H: 7.2cm/2.8in.

A ceramic placard impressed with the words WATER IS……. over the Zen symbol of a triangle, circle and square by Sodeisha founding member Yagi Kazuo mounted in a frame for wall hanging. WAYANG DOLL

Old-type wooden doll once used for the traditional Indonesian puppet-shadow play so-called 'Wayang kulit' (ref. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayang_kulit), Pre 1950s, 46 x 16 x 1.5cm (18.11 x 6.29 x 0.59in). Stained due to aging as is, but generally in fine antique condition.

Wayang topeng mask, finely carved in wood to represent a typical character of that theater, with strong features, painted in polychrome colours to underline some areas. Animal hair was affixed to the mask to represent the hair and the moustache of the character. A wood bar was affixed to the inside of the mask, probably to allow the bearer to hold the mask with his teeth as is done sometimes. Two lidded jars with Qingbai and Jizhou glazes and terra cotta playing pieces. Not Song Dynasty but all hand made. The brown jar Jizhou jar has some discoloration. This white “stones” are 180 and there are 176 of the darker ones. D: 12cm/4.8in and H: 8cm/3.1in.

A whimsical khaki green-yellow glazed Japanese pottery figural sake pot depicting a tanuki trying to make off with a proportionately larger sake barrel. Early 20th century to turn of that century. Good condition. Height 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm). About 4 1/2 inches (11.4cm) length from tanuki's nose.
