An extremely rare pair of original 18th century elm wood lacquered folding chairs. All the parts are original including the original lacquer. Only replacements were the hardware in the folding joints as the originals had rusted out. The back panel has an open- work floral design with a cloud design on the upper and lower panels. A fine and very rare pair of monochrome rouleau shaped porcelain vases with apple green lustrous glaze; the base and interior are glazed white. There are old collector's labels to the base. Pair of Chinese Tang (618-907) to Five Dynasties (907-960) olive-gray glazed Yue ware 10-petal foliate lotus-leaf shaped shallow bowls with flat bases. The characteristic spur marks are in the interior of the bowls. Circa 9th/10th century. Each measures 1 5/8” high x 5 ½” diameter. Lovely antique Japanese large rectangular tray with a scene of a woman gazing at the moon (inlaid mother of pearl), she is sitting near a small stream with flowers and grasses, misty clouds above, the tray is made of kiri wood and the decoration is made of beautiful cherry wood bark, outer sides are also covered in cherry bark, Taisho Period. Incredible pair of very large bronze Japanese shokodai candlesticks. Made of bronze with fine casting for an important Buddhist temple. With chrysanthemum base and bowl. Prickets for large candles.
