$1,260.00 An unusual brilliantly colored fresh water jar for the tea ceremony by Living National Treasure Tokuda Masahiko (Yasokichi III) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It ocmes with the original black lacquered lid. It is 14cm (5-1/2 inches) diameter 20.5cm(8 inches) tall and in perfect condition. There are chips to the lacquer on the handle of the lid, which are currently being professionally repaired.

$2,200 DESCRIPTION: During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, glazed sculptural tiles became a popular decorative devise used extensively in temples, altars, imperial palaces and gardens, and are considered one of the hallmarks of classical Chinese architecture. On temples and palaces, representations of mounted warriors and snarling dragons were meant to ward off evildoers of both the physical and spiritual kind.
More rarely seen are wall tiles earlier than Ming, so we are pleased to offer this one...

Rare, Museum Quality 19th Century Medicine Chest (Yakjang) with Paulownia Doors. This is the finest work of Korean antique furniture we have ever offered, and likely the only example of this type anywhere outside of Korea. Antique medicine chests with doors are extremely rare even in Korea, and this is probably the best known condition among the very few left. Each drawer has the name of the medicine inscribed on it. Perfectly proportioned at 100 x 75 x 33 cm, 39.5 x 29.5 x 13 inches.

Price on Request A very finely painted Nabeshima Okawachi porcelain bowl on a high footrim of Mokuhaigata form decorated in under-glaze blue with a pattern of five Hydrangea's in Bloom painted in “Korin Style”. The reverse decorated with three Peony motifs, botan karakusa, and the foot-ring with finely painted kushide comb pattern to the outside of the footring. Rare Nakamura Donen (1876-1937) Mishima Ware Chawan Bowl with Gold Repair Kintsugi.
Nakamura Donen was a famous potter during Meiji-Taisho periods who worked in different styles such as Raku and Mishima.
He has a lot of Korean influence in his works as he studied the pottery in Korea.

On Hold This is a fine old Antique Chinese charger. It is done in a pattern rarely seen. Look close at the images and you will see the old orange peel surface texture. The charger has no cracks or chips. It does have a little wear to the gold but most of the enamels are fine. Overall it is in very good condition and in much better condition than most this age.. The Charger is heavily potted and weighs several lbs. Measures 13 inches across.

An interior mirror under the fitted lid shows some age related wear. The tortoise shell is in excellent antique condition, no cracks and there is no visible loss to the enamel.
