This very rare pottery model of a pack horse, or pony, was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a grey pottery that has been "cold painted" with traces of red and white pigments remaining. Note the detail of the saddle bags and pack. Interestingly, on the surface of the back left hoof is a heavy rust deposit suggesting this horse lay alongside an iron object during its long burial. ... Price on Request A very rare and unusual lotus form bowl on three lotus bud and seed pod feet very finely painted to the interior with vibrant Famille Rose enamels depicting bats and lotus amongst multiple sylized flower scrolls on a turquoise ground.
This item was made in China during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor (1796-1820) or late in the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795).
Condition: excellent - no damages and no repairs or restoration.

Sold in our Liverpool shop - April 2019 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2019年4 月 A rare small wine cup painted with stylized lotus scrolls in underglaze blue. The base carries the six character mark of the Guangxu emperor and it was made during his reign (1875-1908).
Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoraton.
5.5cm (2.2 inches) diameter; 3cm (1.2 inches) high.

Sold in our Liverpool shop - May 2019 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2019年05月 A six-sided porcelain wine pot warmer painted in Qianjiang style with a scene on one side from a Chinese opera relating to stories from the Three Kingdoms period. On the other side is a poem which we have, as yet, been unable to read. It is signed and dated to 1903. Condition - very good - there are glaze imperfections and there are two chips to the base rim (please view enlargement 2); no further damages and no restoration. 10.7cm (4.2inches) high; 10cm (4inches) across.
