Antique Japanese samurai's shiko ebira, open type of quiver for carrying arrows (ya). Finely made of carved wood with iron fittings and lacquer finish. Decorated with gold mon on a black lacquer ground. Comes with a set of 5 arrows and displayed on a custom fabricated bronze stand. Kyudo (the art of archery) was practiced in battle and in hunting.

The mask is of dark brownish lacquer finish and the interior is black lacquer. The high jaw has two protruding hooks for strapping the cords, and underneath the chin is a vent hole. The Saru Bo is fitted with yodare kare covered in lacquered black leather with three lames plates and blue silk lacing.

A nicely decorated Japanese porcelain Satsuma bowl, with scalloped edge, showing groups of women and men and Buddhist Monks. The bowl is marked Meiji period (1868-1912, and gives the makers' name as being "Kinkozan". The bowl measures about 2" high x 4 3/4" in diameter, and the condition is excellent. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

This is beautiful Japanese antique Satsuma box with very fine detailing. The white enameling in the flowers and leaves with the gold detail s remind us of work seen on some Seikozan or Shizan pieces. A load of time consuming workmanship went into this piece. It is in outstanding condition with minor gold wear. The box measures 4 3/8 by 3 1/4 inches and is about 2 inches deep. Finely painted Satsuma chatelaine with a silver backing and chain. The porcelain disks are tapered in size with the largest being iris, followed by a peacock, then butterflies, and finally a coiled dragon. The images are surrounded with cobalt blue and gold bands. This chatelaine could easily be made into a necklace. Measures 5.25" long with the largest tile a little under 1 inch diameter and the smallest being 1/2" diameter. Dates circa 1900.

A fine cobalt blue Japanese belt buckle with a silver back. Excellent details and absolutely perfect. In original box. Never used. Circa 1900. Buckle assembled measures 3.5 inches wide.
