Wonderful pair of horse prints by Japanese artist Urushibara Mokuchu 1888-1953). These Zen style horses are beautifully designed and printed with calligraphic line work similar to traditional sumi ink paintings. A classic Japanese subject rendered in bold black, crisp white, and soft tones of grey. Pencil signatures at lower right, red seal on both. Undated, estimated to be circa 1940's. A radical Iga vase by unconventional artist Kishimoto Kennin (b. 1934) enclosed in the original signed and stamped wooden box. The free form Terracotta image is covered in lichen-like pale green ash glaze. The vase is 10 inches (25 cm) tall, 5 inches (12.5 cm) wide and in perfect condition. An very pretty, oblong Iga vase for tokonoma presentation with compressed body and a long, trumpet-shaped neck. Two small ears on the side. Partly covered (upper part) with a running, olive-green glaze. Signed. Artist unidentified (see photo). Vintage. H 23.5 cm. Condition: Perfect.

Inspired the works of Iizuka Rokansai, this open weave basket with richly toned dark red-brown split bamboo has a slightly tapering cylindrical body with an offset loop handle at the top. Signed with an incised signature on the bottom. Comes with a bamboo water container. Dates late 20th century. Measures 8” high including handle, 4.74” diameter. This basket had a very nice sheen to it that is not being captured by the photos. You will be pleased.

New Condition, hand sewn. I don't have a close up photos here, but I think this is hand woven. The katazome (stencil dye) cloth for the liner in the shoulder area. (I will try to take some close up photos sometimes later). Dimensions: 45 1/2" sleeve to sleeve, 23" shoulder and 36" long.

Japanese Imari Porcelain Black Ship and Namban design Bowl and Cover, 3 1/4" high & 5 1/8" diameter-with cover, 2 1/4" high & 4 3/4" diameter-bowl, later part of 1800's Meiji period, with overglaze decoration of six(6) Dutchmen and black ship in iron red background, highlighted in gold. Underglaze blue decoration of diaper pattern borders inside the bowl and under the lid, floral decoration on the bottom and the cover. The condition is good, no damage or restoration.
