Chinese Tang Dynasty (618-906) Changsha ware pale yellow glazed ewer decorated with light brown-splashed glaze over relief molded leaf-form foliage designs on opposing sides beneath each of two loops. 9 1/4"H. This particular shape first appeared in China in the 8th century and was used for hot water. Very good overall condition. An original natural pigment pottery figure of a standing court lady wearing a short-sleeved tunic over a robe with long sleeves. Her interesting looped hairdo is parted into two bunches that rest atop the sides of her head. The figure has most of the original pigments, some of which have worn off over the years.Very difficult to find one that has not been restored. Period: Tang (618 - 907 AD) Size: Height = 22.5 cm, Width at base = 7.5 cm. Condition: All original. No repairs.

Chinese Tang dynasty (618-907 A.D.) brown glazed wine jar with cup decorated around the rim with two stylized opposing dragons. The cup rests upside down over the circular opening on top.
