Exceptional Japanese antique ikebana flower basket with vase shaped body made of closely woven very finely split bamboo and handle made of bent bamboo branches. The natural shape of the branches are integrated into the shape of the basket and accentuated by intricate knot work. Signed: Shochikusi. Meiji period Size: 19" high x 8 1/4" wide

Tibetan butterfly-shaped woolen under-saddle rug "Makden", made in two pieces in knotted pile. Backed with purple cotton, edged with red wool fabric and having two not pierced strap holes.
