BECKONING RACOON DOG

Auspicious Japanese wood carving racoon dog with beckoning hand, like 'Maneki-neko' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maneki-neko), Taisho-Showa period, early 20th century, approx. H 10.5cm (4.13in). An unusual late 19th C Chinese teapot of quatrefoil form applied with a bamboo form spout set opposite a bamboo handle. Decorated around the sides in shades of blue and white enamel with flower heads on mint green scrolling foliage, the flattened cover is similarly decorated and surmounted by a leaf form knop. A wonderful item for the collector of Chinese porcelains. Measures: 8" long, 4.25" wide, and 2.5" high.

A large, Museum Quality pottery figure of a male attendant carrying a flask or a vase under his arm. The figure dates to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.

The figure is placed on throne made of Lotus flowers on the top of hexagonal plint, both in fine Sancai colours - a two-colour green and yellow glazed robe.

Korean 19th Century Porcelain High-Footed Bowl in Box with Shifuku

This "heavily-potted" bowl with a high foot was made in 19th century, during the late Joseon (Choson) Dynasty (AD 1392 - 1910). It is coated all over in a pale grey glaze, that seems to have just the slightest hint of blue in places. Embedded in the glaze around the foot rim are many pieces of kiln grit.
